CELL THEORY TIMELINE HANS AND ZACHARIAS JANSSEN MATTHIAS SCHLEIDEN INVENTED THE FIRST WAS THE FIRST TO DISCOVER COMPOUND The first man to witness a live cell under a microscope was Antony van Leeuwenhoek (although the first man to make a compound microscope was Zacharias Janssen), who in 1674 described the algae Spirogyra and named the moving organisms animalcules, meaning "little animals". Zacharias Janssen, probably with assistance from his father Hans, is credited with the invention of the compound microscope. By introducing a device that increased the ability to see tiny living things, Janssen helped to open up the world of microorganisms to direct study.

Cell Theory : anthony carcamo 1) Hans and Zacharias Janssen were known for inventing the compound optical microscope. This contributed to the cell theory by making it easier and more practical to observe cells. 3)Hans and Zacharias Janssen Cell Theory was first discovered after they developed the microscope. what was Zacharias Janssen job?

what was Zacharias Janssen job? Anton Van Leeuwenhoek used the Hans and Zacharias Janssen's microscpe to invent a new type of microscope and so became the first person to see single-celled animals with a microscope. Also, through his invention, he was able to discover bacteria. Hans & zacharias janssen.

He extended the cell theory from plants to animals. He observed the formation of yeast and concluded that fermentation of sugar and starch was the result of life processes. He was the first to contribute to the germ theory. He formulated the basic principles of embryology by observing that the egg is a single cell that grows into a complete organism.
